After the reopening of certain places , the carriers threatened to resume their activities. The situation was difficult for the population, especially for economic operators. Now people can move around the country, a decision welcomed by the business community.
" This is a good thing, because the situation was getting very complicated for the Burkinabè ," said Adama Ouedraogo of the National Federation of Transporters. Burkina Faso has lost a lot with this quarantine situation. In any case, it's a breath of fresh air. This manager is now asking carriers to respect barrier gestures, because according to him, passenger safety remains the priority.
Concern of the medical sector
The general secretary of the traders' union had judged the consequences of quarantine for the economy to be very harmful. " It is like being in an economic prison, " he said.
On the side of the health sector, it is rather the concern. The president of the Order of Nurses of Burkina Faso believes that this lifting of quarantine could be a factor favoring the spread of the virus in other cities of the country which had not known a case until then. " Things are rebounding with twenty new cases of coronavirus in forty-eight hours ," he said. The most effective means and strategies must be found so that the populations comply with the barrier measures. "
