• Live: last hour of the coronavirus health crisis

The Madrid City Council begins to draw the first lines of the de-escalation plan that it intends for the capital. Some lines that are mainly aimed at two lines of action: the pedestrianization of the public space and the terraces of the hospitality premises. Thus the mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, pointed out this Tuesday that both the Paseo del Prado and Artura Soria will be closed to traffic and that in phase two of de-escalation his team plans to expand the terraces to the parking bands and remove bars to the street.

In an interview in Cope, the councilor has indicated that the municipal corporation is already working on making "areas that had already been pedestrianized with the previous government team" once again available to pedestrians on a "temporary basis" during de-escalation. Almeida has framed both the Paseo del Prado and Calle Arturo Soria.
