  • Security: The Municipal Police fines 30 groups of people making a bottle on Saturday night in Madrid

Madrid has begun to glimpse the light of the de-escalation after six weeks of total confinement this weekend with the relaxation of some measures such as those that allow its citizens to go out to do individual sports or stroll with people residing in the same home. But the people of Madrid have launched into this de-escalation too quickly. At least, at the discretion of the security forces.

In the last three days, between May 1 and 3, the number of sanctions filed by the Municipal Police has risen to 4,325 . Figures that suppose to surpass the fines interposed by the same body in four whole weeks of total confinement and to duplicate even those of the initial day of Easter with the mega-controls that were established in the capital to avoid the departure of the population.

This weekend, municipal agents filed 1,192 fines on Friday, May 1; 1,434, on Saturday the 2nd, and 1699, yesterday, Sunday the 3rd with a total of seven detainees over the course of these days. Puente de Vallecas was again at the top of the ranking of these fines, followed by Centro, Carabanchel and Latina.

According to the own data that the Municipal Police in recent weeks, the average of sanctions in Madrid has been around in the weeks of confinement decreed by the state of alarm the 4,000 sanctions in seven days, a number that has pulverized three days of relaxation of measures . In the first full week of confinement, between March 16 and 23, those penalties were 4,324 and, since then, they have been decreasing slightly in the following weeks.

Between March 23 and 29, that figure stood at 4,005 and between March 30 and April 5 it rebounded to 4,107, which is two hundred fewer than in these last three days. The following week from 6 to 12, which coincides with the start of Easter, 5,587 were recorded due to the sharp rise on Wednesday the 8th with 2,131, but in the remaining six days that number only added up to 3,456, being the lowest ratio.

At the end of Easter, between April 13 and 19 , the figures returned to their usual state with 4,151 and in the last week of April, from 20 to 27, there was a rebound to 4,546 sanctions, which exceed 221 the registered in the last three days when the Municipal Police, as reported by EL MUNDO, denounced up to 30 groups of people who made bottle in the street on Saturday night

Municipal sources indicate to this newspaper that all the sanctions filed are "for skipping confinement for no reason" for activities that are not allowed or at hours that are not allowed according to the provisions of the state of alarm.
