24,895 dead in France, three departments turn green

France has at least 24,895 coronavirus deaths on Monday morning, 135 more since the previous day, the Directorate General of Health announced in a press release. In detail, 15,583 people died in hospital, and 9,312 in social and medico-social establishments. In addition, 25,815 people are hospitalized because of the coronavirus, and 3,819 are in intensive care. 

On the side of the temporary deconfinement map, three changes have been made: the Gers, the Loire-Atlantique and the Mayenne go from orange to green. This Sunday evening, 50 departments are therefore classified green, 19 orange, and 32 in red, including Île-de-France and Grand-Est.

The coronavirus pandemic has killed at least 245,576 people worldwide, according to an AFP report from official sources at 7 p.m. GMT on Sunday. More than 3,479,220 cases of infection have been officially diagnosed in 195 countries and territories since the start of the epidemic. This number of diagnosed cases, however, only reflects a fraction of the actual number of infections, with a large number of countries only testing cases requiring hospital treatment. Among these cases, at least 1,063,600 are today considered cured.

Since the previous day, 3,893 new deaths and 80,626 new cases have been recorded worldwide. The countries with the most new deaths are the United States with 1,510 new deaths, Brazil (421) and the United Kingdom (315). The United States is the most affected country in terms of number of deaths and cases, with 67,155 deaths for 1,148,004 cases. At least 175,382 people were declared cured.
