D-7 before the reopening of schools in France. A protocol was published on Sunday, May 3, detailing the procedure to follow to comply with hygiene rules in schools. Some mayors of Île-de-France have asked for a postponement.

Limit crossovers

As soon as they arrive at school, parents are asked to take their child's temperature. In case of symptoms or fever (37.8 ° C or more), the child should not go to school. The personnel proceed in the same way.

The arrival at school and the departure can be spread out over time. In the establishments, the objective is to "limit the crossings between pupils of different classes or different levels".

4 m² per student

The classrooms must be organized so as to respect a distance of at least one meter between the tables as well as between the tables and the teacher's desk - about 4 m² per pupil, with the exception of those placed against a wall, window, library ... "For example, a 50 m² room should accommodate 16 people."

This principle must be able to be applied in all contexts and spaces: arrival and surroundings of the school, recreation, corridors, covered playground, school catering, sanitary facilities ...

In the second stage, it is recommended to favor the displacement of teachers rather than that of students and therefore to allocate a room to a class.

Mandatory mask, except in kindergarten

For personnel, health authorities recommend wearing an anti-spray mask, also known as a "general public" mask. The Ministry of Education will provide its agents with direct contact with students two masks per day.

Wearing a mask is "compulsory in all situations where the rules of distancing may not be respected". It is "recommended" in all other situations.

For nursery school students, it is "to be avoided". For those in elementary schools, it is not recommended but children can be equipped with it if they wish and if they are able to wear it without risk of misuse.

When they are easily accessible to the whole population, parents will have to equip their children. In the meantime, the Ministry of Education will provide them to middle and high schools.

Hand washing after blowing, coughing or sneezing

Regarding barrier gestures, they must be applied "permanently, everywhere and by everyone". Hand washing with soap and water must be carried out "at least upon arrival at school, before entering the classroom, especially after recess, before and after each meal, before going to the bathroom and after going there, after blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing, in the evening before going home and upon arrival at home. " Otherwise, the use of a hydroalcoholic solution may be considered.

The premises must be ventilated frequently and last at least 10 minutes each time. If the premises have not been visited in the last five days, the usual cleaning protocol is sufficient.

If the premises have been visited in the last five days, even partially, as a precaution, usual cleaning and disinfection must take place according to a "thorough cleaning" protocol.

Prohibited ball games and slides

Manual exchanges of balloons, toys, pencils, etc. must be "avoided or accompanied by methods of disinfection after each use".

Recreations must be organized in groups of classes, taking into account the recommendations relating to distance and barrier gestures. It is a question of avoiding the crossings of classes and pupils, by staggering the times of recreation, by avoiding the groupings of different levels, by reducing the times of pause according to the numbers.

Contact and ball games must be prohibited, like "anything involving the exchange of objects", as well as play structures whose contact surfaces cannot be disinfected, such as slides. In case of organizational difficulties, the recreations "can be replaced by break times in class at the end of the course".

Regarding sanitary facilities, the number of people present must be limited in order to respect physical distance. The urinals used must be at least one meter apart. The toilets must be able to allow students and staff to wash their hands at all times.

Classroom catering if necessary

In the case of catering in the canteen or refectory, the organization of time and access must make it possible to limit queues and crossings of groups of students in the corridors as much as possible.

If it is impossible to restore in the usual places, it can be done "in the classroom under the supervision of an adult and in the form of trays or packed lunches, in compliance with hygiene rules".
