It is not only in France that the return of children to school is a subject of debate. In Canada too, the issue divides parents. The Quebec government has indeed announced the reopening from May 11 of primary schools and galleries, closed since mid-March. A controversial decision when the province has more than half of the country's coronavirus cases and deaths.

The Prime Minister's three children are enrolled in a French-language public school in Ontario which will not reopen immediately. He had placed himself in self-containment with his family in his official residence after the announcement of the contamination of his wife - now healed - on March 12.

"An extremely personal decision"

But if it were for Quebec parents, what would Justin Trudeau do? This is the question that was asked to him during a program broadcast Sunday evening on the public channel Radio-Canada. "  I don't know  ," he admitted, who admitted that it would be "  an extremely personal decision for many parents  ."

"  I would take this decision probably at the last minute  ", after having studied the organization of lessons and recess, the number of children per class or the state of mind of the teachers, explained the head of government who continues telework as often as possible and give daily press conferences in front of his official residence.
