Interior Yanis Morin of Châlons-Reims has signed up for three seasons with Strasbourg, the Alsatian basketball club, which was 10th in the Elite Championship when it was interrupted in early March, announced on Monday.

Yanis Morin, 26 (2.08 m), played this season at Châlons-Reims, where his performance made him the second best French player in evaluation (16) and rebound (7.3 per game on average) in Elite league.

He was selected in the team of French players during the last All Star.

"The place of French players in the strategy put in place is one of the priority axes in building the team," said SIG in a press release. As such, the signature of Yanis Morin "is therefore perfectly suited to the project that is being put in place".

Strasbourg had a complicated season and notably separated at the end of January from its emblematic trainer Vincent Collet. He was replaced by Finnish technician Lassi Tuovi, who also saw his contract extended in early April for the next two seasons.

The French Basketball Championship is pending. Interrupted in mid-March due to the coronavirus crisis, it is a given that competition will not resume until September. The National League (LNB) has not yet decided whether the 2019-2020 season will end.
