Judge Vanessa Ballese of London, UK, has said recently that due to the epidemic's restrictive measures, the May hearing will not be held.

On May 4, local time, the Westminster District Court in the United Kingdom ruled to resume the hearing in September. However, a spokesperson said that the exact date and location have not yet been determined.

Assange created the "Wiki Secret" website in 2006. The website exposed a large number of confidential US government documents on the Afghanistan and Iraq wars in 2010. In November of the same year, the Swedish Procuratorate initiated a criminal investigation into Assange on the grounds of alleged rape.

Assange was in the United Kingdom at the time, but was arrested by the British police and refused to plead guilty. In 2012, he entered the Ecuadorian embassy in the United Kingdom during bail. On April 11, 2019, the Ecuadorian government withdrew its asylum from Assange, and Assange was immediately arrested by the British police.

Currently, the United States is seeking to extradite Assange. On February 24, 2020, a local court in London, UK, agreed to extradite Assange for trial. The American lawyer who filed the request for extradition charged Assange with more than ten counts. Assange's lawyer believes that once Assange is convicted, he will face a maximum sentence of 175 years.
