"There is significant evidence that this is coming from this laboratory in Wuhan," Pompeo says, referring to the corona virus.

He says at the same time that the US intelligence services have not had the matter confirmed.

Pompeo claims in the interview that viruses were also previously spread from labs in China.

- Remember that China has a history of infecting the world, and they have a history of operating substandard laboratories. It is not the first time the world has been exposed to viruses as a result of failures in a Chinese lab.

"Not created by humans"

In a statement, the US intelligence services recently agreed with the general scientific opinion that the sars-cov-2 virus was not manufactured or modified by humans. But they add that they are investigating both whether it was spread directly from animals to humans and information that it may have occurred as a result of a laboratory accident in China.

Pompeo makes various offers as to whether he supports the intelligence services' assessment. He replies in the interview that he agrees with their conclusion that the virus is not created by man, but also expresses the opposite.

- So far, the foremost experts seem to believe that it (the virus) was created by man. I have no reason to distrust this at present.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the virus is not created artificially.

There has not yet been any Chinese reaction to Pompeo's statement.

conspiracy theories

The spread of the virus from a Chinese laboratory in Wuhan has been circulating among conspiracy theorists for a long time. From the Chinese government team, an unfounded theory has been spread that US soldiers brought the infection to China during the Wuhan Military World Cup 2019 - something that has caused irritation in the United States.

Among the many conspiracy theories is also noticed the 5G track, where telemasters are alleged to contribute to spreading the virus, which has led to sabotage of masts in parts of the world.

According to WHO, the virus has spread from animals to humans. The origin of the outbreak has been traced to a market in Wuhan, but more precisely how it took the shot from wild animals to humans is not clear.
