Johns Hopkins University, the count of which refers, recorded an increase of 2% in deaths compared to the balance sheet on Friday with, in total, 66,224 people died of coronavirus in the United States, including 1,435 in the last 24 hours. 

The balance sheet continues to increase in the United States. According to a latest assessment announced on Saturday by Johns Hopkins University, 1,435 people have died from the coronavirus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total American death toll to more than 66,000.

At least 241,682 dead worldwide

At 8:30 p.m. local time on Saturday (12:30 a.m. GMT on Sunday), the university, the count of which refers, had recorded more than 1.1 million cases of Covid-19 infection and 66,224 deaths, an increase of 2% compared to on Friday's balance sheet. The United States is by far the country with the highest number of deaths from the pandemic. Italy is followed by 28,710 dead, the United Kingdom (28,131), Spain (25,100) and France (24,760).

The pandemic has killed at least 241,682 people worldwide since its onset in December in China, according to an assessment by AFP from official sources on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. GMT. More than 3,398,390 cases of infection have been diagnosed in 195 countries and territories.
