On Sunday, the South Korean Presidential Office made it clear that it believed that North Korean leader Kim Young-un had not undergone surgery.

A senior official in the Presidential Office told reporters that there are news reports indicating that leader Kim is supposed to have had surgery on the background of changing the way of walking and others, explaining that he believes this is not true.

"Yes," he said in response to the question whether the northern leader had not undergone a simple medical procedure.

He added that he had information confirming that he was not undergoing surgery, but that it was difficult to reveal it.

These statements indicate that the Presidential Office clearly affirmed its position regarding continuous rumors that the northern leader was subjected to surgery or medical procedure even after his appearance again 20 days after his absence from public activities.

He added that the presidential office’s belief has not changed from what it stated earlier that there are no unusual movements in North Korea.
