March 16: First aid package

The government's first aid package contains several measures to support companies during the corona pandemic. The package can, if fully utilized, comprise over SEK 300 billion. It includes:

• Support for short term permits. The employer's cost is reduced by up to 50 percent, the employee / laid-off receives 90 percent of his salary and the state accounts for the difference.

• The government will take over employers' sick pay costs in April and May.

• An insurance policy for companies which means that they can be deferred with payment of taxes such as employers' contributions, preliminary tax on salary and value added tax, which are reported monthly or quarterly. It covers three months' tax payments and is submitted for a maximum of 12 months.
