Former justice minister Sergio Moro was interrogated for more than eight hours on Saturday after making serious accusations against President Jair Bolsonaro. According to him, the head of state of the extreme right would have tried to interfere in police investigations.

"  Judas  ". This is how Jair Bolsonaro qualified his former Minister of Justice on Saturday on Twitter.

Sergio Moro , the emblem of the "express wash" operation, resigned with a bang on April 24, after the dismissal of one of his closest collaborators, the chief of the Federal Police, Mauricio Valeixo. "The change in head of the Federal Police without a real cause is a political interference that undermines my credibility and that of the government," said the former anti-corruption judge in a press conference the day of his resignation. Adding: “  The President told me that he wanted to name someone he would have personal contact with, whom he could call to inquire about the investigations.  "  Unfounded  " accusations , according to the far-right president.

The attorney general opened an investigation after these explosive revelations, especially since several relatives of the Brazilian head of state are under investigation, starting with his sons.

Long testimony

Welcomed by protesters who came to support him and others who were rather hostile, Sergio Moro was therefore heard on Saturday at the federal police headquarters in Curitiba all afternoon and late into the night.

However, we do not yet know the content of his testimony. In an interview published Friday with the weekly Veja , Sergio Moro said he would present evidence of his accusations during his interrogation.

The investigation could lead either to a dismissal procedure against Jair Bolsonaro, or to proceedings for the denunciation of an imaginary crime against Sergio Moro.
