China released a short animated movie that mocks the United States' handling of the Corona virus crisis and uses symbols similar to plastic cubes to materialize the two countries.

Washington and Beijing are engaged in a war of words over the origin of the disease, which first appeared in the Chinese city of Wuhan and then turned into a global pandemic.

US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he was confident that the Coruna virus arose in a Chinese virology laboratory, but he gave no evidence for that.

In the animated film released by Xinhua, a red curtain opens to reveal a platform with symbols similar to plastic cubes in the form of a terracotta army warrior wearing a muzzle and the Statue of Liberty.

"We have discovered a new virus," says the warrior. "So what? It is only flu."

Then the warrior issues warnings from the virus and counts the most important achievements that China has made in fighting the outbreak.

"Do you listen to yourself?" Asks the warrior, who begins to turn red and develops a fever, to which he replies, "We are always right, even if we are contradicting ourselves."

The United States and other countries have accused China of misleading the world over the severity of the outbreak, and calls have been mounting for an international investigation to find out the origin of the virus.

In an interview with Reuters, Trump said he believed China 's handling of the Corona pandemic was proof that Beijing "will do everything it can" to lose the elections scheduled for next November.
