This week was the Day of the Dance, which is usually noticed with performances and performances. But in corona times, the dance has to take place online.

- Many of our 1,800 students spend a lot of time at home and we started giving them different assignments via social media. One of them was to film themselves when performing the choreography that I put together for Jonathan Johansson's "Never Alone", a fitting title in these times, says Erika Ranhagen, dance teacher at Uppsala dance academy.

The response became so great that Erika Ranhagen decided to put together the 150 clips for a movie.

- This spread throughout the world as well, it's great fun. We have received grants from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore - and several European countries, she says.

Babies participate

The youngest who dances himself is only four years old.

- She's learned the whole choreography. But there are several babies in the cliff too, says Erika Ranhagen.

Uppsala dance academy wants to spread some hope and community with the film.

- You can do things together even if you don't meet physically. This will be a kind of commemorative film over spring 2020, says Erika Ranhagen.

The film has received great response on social media and has touched many: "So damn nice", "beautiful" and "so nice and moving" "are some examples of comments from Facebook.
