This was announced in the Russian Foreign Ministry on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the tragedy in Odessa.

“On this day in 2014 with the connivance - and many facts speak of direct participation - of the 'maidan' authorities, the brutalized radical nationalists staged a massacre and massacre - they burnt dozens of people alive in the city House of Trade Unions just because they peacefully spoke in protection of their rights, ”the agency said.

The ministry recalled that the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Council of Europe's international advisory group have already expressed their concern about the progress of the investigation.

“The change of power in Ukraine in 2019 did not affect the situation. The UN was forced to once again note the absence of any progress in the investigation of the Odessa tragedy, ”the Foreign Ministry added.

The ministry notes that for the period from November 16, 2019 to February 15, 2020, the UN notes "complete impunity in this case" and emphasizes that "the families of the victims are still seeking justice."

“We urge the international community and relevant human rights structures to continue to seek from the Ukrainian authorities a full and transparent clarification of all the circumstances of the Odessa tragedy and other high-profile crimes, including executions on the Maidan and the murder of journalists,” they added.

On October 30, 2019, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine abandoned the initiative to create a temporary investigative commission to investigate riots in Odessa on May 2, 2014, during which 48 people died.

In Odessa, May 2, 2014, Ukrainian radicals and nationalists set fire to the House of Trade Unions, in which anti-Maidan activists were blocked.

They fired at people who were trying to get out of the burning building, and doctors were not allowed to see them. As a result, 48 people died and more than 200 were injured.
