As the deadline of May 11th approaches and the parks and public gardens will open on this date for the departments where the coronavirus circulates little, Loïg Chesnais-Girard, president of the Brittany region, requests that the Breton beaches be again free access.

#RendezNousLaMer! May 11 be the day of "liberation of the Breton beaches"? This is what more and more people in the region are hoping for on social networks. If Prime Minister Édouard Philippe has ruled out opening access to beaches before at least June 1, calls are multiplying so that those located in Brittany are open to the public, in a reasoned manner, from the start of deconfinement. At the microphone of Europe 1 Saturday, Loïg Chesnais-Girard, president of the Brittany region, also argued in this direction.

"The idea is not to open the beaches, to stick towels everywhere and to agglutinate with each other. That's really not the spirit," warned Loïg Chesnais-Girard . He explains that if the parks and public gardens reopen on May 11 in the departments classified as green, then the Breton beaches must also be "for the part of Bretons and Bretons who have the sea at their doorstep".

In #Bretagne, our beaches are our parks and gardens. I plead so that under the authority of the mayors, we can reopen them as quickly as possible without taking risks for our health. # walks # sport # fishing # surf # sportdeglisse # plaisancepic.twitter.com / M3IupQUSW9

"Our principle is to participate in the effort, to respect the rules and to make sure that in our lifestyles, we integrate this habit which consists in going to get some fresh air, get some fresh air and do sports. ", explains the president of the Brittany region at the microphone of Europe 1.

CORONAVIRUS ESSENTIALS

> Partial unemployment: the parents' situation clarified

> A new inflammatory disease affecting children linked to the coronavirus?

> What will shopping be like after May 11?

> The French will have to go on vacation near their home

> Why going to the hairdresser will cost more after confinement

But the councilor warns and alerts the Bretons against any loosening of the rules of confinement: "The first condition is to stay serious and stay green until May 11." Because Loïg Chesnais-Girard knows this better than anyone: if the Breton departments went orange or red, then the deconfinement would be stricter.

"Shaking hands with mayors"

Also, this reopening of the beaches would not be without organization. Loïg Chesnais-Girard proposes "giving hands to mayors", in order to "find solutions that assure us that we do not do anything stupid".

"We must not end up with a new disaster to manage tomorrow," says Loïg Chesnais-Girard. "Mayors know their beaches, they know their coastal paths and can thus find solutions for openness, without making mistakes," he concludes.
