"Like a large spaceship" - artists in Gävleborg depict the corona pandemic

In order to help artists who have a hard time in corona times, the Gävleborg Region announced an assignment to depict the corona pandemic in the county.

116 applications were received and 39 artists have now been granted support of between SEK 15,000 and SEK 30,000.

- For us, it is important that the time we are in now, with Covid-19, is documented and embodied by talented cultural players in our region. It is also important to release funds that will benefit cultural actors, says Magnus Svensson (C), chairman of the Cultural and Competence Committee of the Gävleborg Region, in a press release.

When that time becomes possible, Region Gävleborg intends for all cultural creators' works to be shown to the public.
