According to Monica Bergström, press spokesperson in the Eastern Police Region, there have been more cases than an ordinary Thursday. But the vast majority of them have not led to any criminal suspicion. There have been parties, but the recommendations have been followed and no large groups have been gathered.

Same way of working

The police have worked in much the same way as in previous years, despite a different election castle.

- We are raising the height for an election evening, which means that more police officers are on duty than an ordinary evening, so we did this time as well. We've had a lot to do, but it's been manageable, ”says Monica Bergström.

Beatings

Among other things, the police have been alerted to alarms about noise.

At Torpa in Jönköping, a man aged 20 was arrested during the evening, suspected of being beaten. He was arrested later that night.

In Vetlanda there was also a riot and when the police came to the scene a large group of people were there. A woman aged 25 had been subjected to abuse and a man could later be arrested, suspected of serious abuse and mischief.
