The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today (1st) has not yet received a request from the Japanese government to support quarantine products, but has announced that it will cooperate with the necessary parts to respond to Corona19.

A foreign ministry official said, "We are aware of the comments made during Prime Minister Abe's reply to the parliament."

Earlier, Prime Minister Abe told the Council of Councilors on the 29th of last month, "Korea is a neighboring country and an important country in Korea," and said, "I want to continue to cooperate with Korea in responding to corona infections."

The official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized, "Japan is our close neighbor, and our government wants to cooperate with Japan in areas such as Corona 19 response."

Regarding the availability of quarantine goods, he explained, "We have not been asked or requested to provide quarantine goods at the government level to the Japanese government."

Next, the government is currently responding to inquiries and requests for quarantine supplies by forming the 'Corona 19 TF for overseas expansion of anti-corrosion goods.' "We will actively review the export and humanitarian assistance of goods."

The government maintains a two-track principle that firmly responds to Japan's historical and territorial issues, but strengthens real cooperation such as economic, social, cultural, and sports, including Corona 19 response.

“The Corona is an infectious disease in which international cooperation is inherently important, and cooperation with neighboring countries, Japan, is also very important,” said Kang Gang-lip, the 1st Coordinator of the Central Disaster Safety Response Headquarters.
