It is with a note of hope that Emmanuel Macron concludes his message to the French by declaring: "  We will find them these May 1st happy, together, united  ".

Once again, the Head of State adopts the posture of the father of the consensual Nation, even if it means presenting an idealized version of the past Labor Day, also evoking "  May Day bickering  ". While France has to face the ravages of the Covid-19 epidemic, unemployment is exploding, and the Prime Minister has raised the risk of "  collapsing the economy  ", the president takes the opportunity to celebrate Work to show confidence in the future, and to chart the way out of the crisis, that of union and solidarity.

This May 1 is unlike any other. And yet, it is thanks to the work, celebrated this day, that the Nation keeps. #FranceUnie pic.twitter.com/JbKKqCQ4Ta

Work is one of the favorite themes of Emmanuel Macro who, on the occasion of this May 1, 2020, bends his speech by evoking with words unusual in his home, "  the workers  " as the pillars of society . A way of trying to show that today his attention also goes to the second and third of the rope.

Words taken up by the leader of the CGT Philippe Martinez who called on the head of state to move from words "  to deeds  " and to take strong measures on the wages "  of the first of the chores  ".
