01 May 2020Ireland low-cost airline Ryanair plans to cut 3,000 jobs due to the industry crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The same company announced it today. 

The company also announced in a statement that most of its planes will remain on the ground at least until July and has predicted that demand in the sector will not resume until the summer of 2022.   

The redundancies, which will mainly concern pilots and assistants from flight, are scheduled for next July.

The company then plans to cut wages by up to 20% and close numerous bases in Europe.   

For his part, CEO Michael O'Leary has agreed to a 50% reduction in his salary until March next year.
