After a jump of 13 points in March, Emmanuel Macron's confidence rating fell by eight points in April, to 43%, and fell behind that of Edouard Philippe (46%, -2 points) in full health crisis, according to a poll published Friday.

Confidence in the head of state by those interviewed declined in all age groups, especially among those over 65 (-12 points), according to this monthly Harris Interactive-Epoka-LCI survey.

Emmanuel Macron, who had experienced a marked boost in confidence after his televised speeches in March, fell back to the level of August 2019, well before the onset of the epidemic.

It remains very clearly above its lowest rating in December 2018 (31%), in the midst of the yellow vests crisis.

Also on the front line facing the pandemic, like his intervention in the National Assembly on Tuesday on the deconfinement strategy, the Prime Minister obtained the confidence of 46% of French respondents, down two points.

"In detail, the Prime Minister arouses more confidence than the President in women, people aged 50 and over, those close to the right (including LR)," notes pollster Jean-Daniel Levy.

The government overall goes from 35 to 31 points. The Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire remains behind (41%, -4), coming after the Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian (46%, -3) and that of Health Olivier Véran (44%, - 4).

Survey carried out online from April 24 to 30 among 947 people aged 18 and over, using the quota method. Margin of error from 1.4 to 3.1 points.
