The Physicians Syndicate in Egypt has warned the Ministry of Health against relying on carrying out rapid analysis only, to ensure the safety of members of medical teams in hospitals designated to treat cases of infection with the Corona virus.

The head of the health care sector in the Egyptian Ministry of Health had adopted a rapid analysis to ensure that hospital personnel treating corona cases are free of infection, before allowing them to return to mix, whether with their regular work or with their families and society.

In a statement yesterday, Wednesday, the Medical Syndicate said that the rapid analysis did not prove its effectiveness or its usefulness, and it threatens dangerous results in increasing the spread of infection among medical teams and society, explaining that the guidelines of the World Health Organization confirm that this analysis is not reliable for diagnosis, and is used only for research purposes , And that the only approved analysis is PCR.

The union sent an official address to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Health Hala Zayed, carrying her detailed notes on the instructions issued by the head of the health care sector.

The union called for stopping the implementation of this decision because of its extreme risk, and acknowledging the necessity of reassurance through conducting a "BCR analysis" twice separated 48 hours between them and obtaining negative results (not being infected with the virus), before allowing members of medical teams to return to their normal work and mixing Society.

The previous member of the Medical Association Council, Mina Mina, had warned a few days ago of the rapid analysis, and said that "the Egyptian Ministry of Health's instructions to rely on a rapid test to diagnose an infection or non-infection of medical personnel have no scientific basis, and clearly contravenes the instructions of the World Health Organization."

Mina explained in a post on her Facebook page that relying on rapid analysis before a doctor’s exit to society equals risk of more possibilities of spreading infection among medical teams and citizens, especially as the Ministry of Health instructions do not leave until a period of isolation between rapid (negative) analysis and the exit of a medical team member And mixing it with society.

In the same context, the Medical Syndicate published its negative comments on the decision of the Health Care Authority regarding the division of labor among isolation doctors, which prevents it from being implemented in practice, asking the Minister of Health to reconsider and cancel it.

Among the negatives that the union listed in its statement, is the division of the work team into two or three groups working alternately, where one group works for 10 or 15 consecutive days continuously and around the clock, provided that the second group is committed to self-isolation without contacting any individual during this period, Then they are exchanged, and so on.

Commissioning system
In a related context, the communication sites witnessed an interaction with the doctors ’position rejecting the new commissioning system, after the Secretary General of the Medical Syndicate, Ihab Al-Taher, said that 70% of the new doctors refuse to register with the commissioning movement according to the new system, and they demand a return to the old system. 

Al-Taher pointed out in press statements to the negatives that harm the doctors and do not contribute to training the health system, stressing that quickly solving the problem provides the system with more than 8000 doctors who can be used to face the Corona pandemic.

He explained that the solution is simply to combine the advantages of the new and old system, for the benefit of new and old doctors and for the benefit of the training system and the health system itself.

"I think we have 7,000 young doctors who need them most in this difficult time, and they are really excited to participate in facing the epidemic in defense of the nation's safety," Al-Taher added.
