The government has already come up with five different support packages to combat the negative effects of the corona pandemic. It has been about very large sums and surpasses the measures taken during the financial crisis in 2008. But still, it is not enough. All parliamentary parties have agreed on this.

In recent days, the pressure on the government has increased in terms of introducing a so-called sales support or direct support to the companies to compensate for the losses the companies make in the footsteps of the pandemic.

"Direct business support"

Now it seems to be going on, despite some doubts from the Social Democrats, and will be presented today. Marmorstein believes that.

"If it doesn't come today, it will definitely come before the next meeting of the Finance Committee, which is next Thursday," she says in the Morning Studio.

- This has been very difficult negotiations. On Tuesday, the party leaders agreed on the principles of such direct support for the companies. Then the economic-political spokespersons took over the negotiations and they sat for half the night last Tuesday and then things went slower, partly because Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson wanted more measures to be agreed already.

Want to keep the ceiling in the a-box

It may be that you agree on more things but it is not certain that you are presenting it already now, says Marmorstein.

- For example, how the companies should be able to release sick pay responsibility for a further time and how to extend this by getting compensation for the first day of sickness, ie what the government called a delayed waiting period deduction. Then they also want to maintain the raised ceiling in the a-box, which LO has been out and demanding, says Marmorstein.
