The Director of the Command and Control Center in the Dubai Police, Colonel Turki bin Faris, revealed that the center provided assistance to callers through more than half a million calls (553406) during the period of "national sterilization", starting from March 26 to April 28.

"The calls were distributed between 432 thousand and 446 calls, on the number 999 for emergency calls, and 120 thousand and 960 calls on the number 901 for non-emergency calls," Colonel bin Faris said.

He explained that the majority of the calls received by the Command and Control Center revolved around the decisions accompanying the preventive measures and precautionary measures taken in the Emirate of Dubai to confront the spread of the new Corona virus, especially with regard to the system of obtaining exit permits and moving around in Dubai during the period of "national sterilization".

Colonel Turki bin Faris pointed out that the command and control center received 52 thousand calls only in one day after the launch of the exit permit system, and this number is a historical and record number in the number of calls received by the center over 24 hours only.

He pointed out that there are two types of categories that the center received calls, the first of which are employees, inquiring about their movement to go to and from work, how to obtain permits, the number of people to be in one car, and whether wearing masks and gloves is necessary, the type of violations, and others Of inquiries.

He added that the second category was represented in the general public among members of the community, where their inquiries centered on the precautionary measures related to their daily lives and their societal relationships, and exit permits to shopping centers to purchase food and transport within the same region.

He emphasized that, in contrast, the number of calls related to criminal and traffic reports decreased significantly in this period.
