It is a new attack by Jair Bolsonaro against the World Health Organization (WHO) in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis. The Brazilian president said Wednesday evening on his Facebook account that the UN agency was pushing children into homosexuality and masturbation. A post that has since been deleted.

"It is the World Health Organization which some would like to see me follow the advice?" Asked the Brazilian head of state on his account. "Should we also follow their education policy?" He continued. "For children up to four years old: satisfaction and pleasure in touching their body, masturbation (....). For children from four to six years old, a positive gender identity (...), masturbation in the little one childhood, homosexuality (...), from nine to 12 years old: first sexual experience. "

Since the start of the health crisis, the far-right president has continually played down the scale of the pandemic and defied all the recommendations of the WHO, which recommends that people stay at home. He notably urged local authorities to "abandon the ban on transport and the closure of shops". The country deplores some 5,900 deaths linked to Covid-19.

"A little flu"

The origin of this post could be found in a 2010 guide, "Standards for education in Europe", published by the WHO Europe office. This guide, among many other topics, explains that young children are discovering their bodies and that their curiosity about sexuality is normal.

When questioned, the Brazilian presidency did not react immediately to the presidential message, a screenshot of which was made by Brazilian media before it was deleted.

Very influenced by his American counterpart Donald Trump, Jair Bolsonaro is a compulsive user of social networks and has already attacked the WHO, seriously implicated in Washington in the global crisis of Covid-19.

For the Brazilian president, who compared the coronavirus to "a small flu" and left freely in Brasila by shaking hands, the recovery of the economy prevails over the containment of the population.
