A Chinese laboratory has made great progress on the way to finding a vaccine against the emerging corona virus.

The "Inquirer" news site said that the researchers of the Chinese laboratory Sinovac Biotech (Sinovac Biotec) may carry in their hands the vaccine awaited by mankind.

The site quoted researchers in the laboratory that the name of the prospective vaccine is "Koronavac".

And while human trials have just begun, researchers from the "Sinovac Biotechnology Laboratory" in Beijing confirmed that the company is preparing to produce 100 million doses of a vaccine that began a short time ago with human experiments after it succeeded in the test animals.

Thousands of samples have already been produced and packed from the vaccine, which is a serum in a white and orange carton decorated with the name "Koronavac".

This laboratory is one of the four laboratories in China that have been authorized to carry out clinical trials, after its proven great progress in research and promising results shown by experiments on monkeys.

The researchers of the "Senovac Biotic" laboratory gave two different doses of the vaccine to a total of eight rhesus monkeys, and after three weeks, they inserted into the lungs of monkeys the dose of the SARS coV-2 virus, the virus that causes the emerging corona virus (Covid-19), through Tubes under the trachea, and none were fully infected, according to Agence France-Presse.

The monkeys that gave the highest dose had a good response. After seven days of receiving the virus, the researchers found no traces of it in the pharynx or lungs of the monkeys.

Thousands of shots of the vaccine, which is based on an inactivated pathogen, have already been produced and packaged in a white and orange case emblazoned with the name “Coronavac.” https://t.co/0INQyoW53g

The company had confirmed that the vaccine did not leave any visible side effects in the monkeys, and that the laboratory began human trials on April 16.

The company has sent large batches of the vaccine to the medical authorities in China to obtain the approvals, although it will take time to use, but the company shows that it is able to produce it on a large scale in very large quantities.

While the drug has a long way to go before it is approved, the laboratory must demonstrate that it can be mass-produced and provide payments to the authorities as evidence of its ability to do so.

It is reported that the World Health Organization said that the development of any vaccine could take 12 to 18 months, and Sinovac does not know when the half-milliliter injection will be ready in the market.

"When will the vaccine be released? This is the question everyone is asking themselves, but nobody can answer it now," said director of brand management Liu Beicheng.

The company listed on the NASDAQ Snovac experience in the production of a drug against global viruses, as it is the first pharmaceutical company to market a vaccine against swine flu, in 2009.

More than 100 laboratories around the world are scrambling to find a vaccine, but only 7 - including Snovac - are currently conducting clinical trials, according to the London School of Health and Tropical Medicine.
