As noted in the American embassy, programs can be connected with real stories about acts of cruelty in Hungary during the war and "during the tyranny of the USSR."

“The proposed projects should focus on the recognition and memory of the complexity of the entire array of events in national history. The focus should be on personal experience and oral evidence, including on the manifestations of humanity and disobedience (fascists. - RT ), as well as on the acts of cruelty and collaboration that took place during the Holocaust, World War II, and also during the tyranny of the Soviet Union ", - says the description of the grant.

Moreover, in all projects, it is necessary to emphasize "the importance and value of the contribution of the transatlantic community to the victory over fascism and the joint movement towards freedom," the department added.

It is also suggested that experts from the United States be involved to help better understand Western democratic principles.

Washington plans to provide up to $ 25,000 for each program. Both Hungarian and American nonprofit organizations, state and private educational institutions, government agencies and individuals can become performers.

The allocated funds can be spent on the creation and distribution of short films, conferences and discussions on the theme of the end of World War II and the subsequent "establishment of Soviet domination", as well as the organization of virtual exhibitions and research events.

According to the plans of the US Embassy, the projects should involve residents of Hungary born after 1985, youth, community leaders, businessmen and users of social networks.

In February, the Polish Institute of International Relations (PISM) under the government of the republic proposed holding a media campaign about the events of the Second World War in order to form a certain public opinion.

Countries of the former Soviet Union were chosen as the target audience, where, according to analysts, the population is still convinced of the liberating role of the Red Army.
