April 29, 2020 The Kolesnik family lives in Salechard, the capital city of the Jamalo-Nenec Autonomous District, exactly on the Arctic Circle, in the far north of Russia: 24 dependent children, including 10 natural and 14 foster children.

Fourteen children go to school, the others are still young. Older children help the little ones. After self-isolation and the start of distance teaching, the local town hall provided the Kolesnik family home with a high-speed wi-fi connection, taking on all the costs. It was a turning point for parents and there was a marked improvement in school performance among their children.

The parents, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief: they save the time to accompany their children to school and bring them home, they don't have to iron mountains of clothes every day and the little ones eat while they study in front of the computer screen. Parents are happy and judge the distance learning experience entirely positive. The spouses, Nikolaj and Valentina, have been married for 21 years, the age difference between husband and wife is 26 years. The youngest child is 2 months old.
