The State of Qatar has started producing artificial respirators in cooperation with an American company in order to cover the requirements of the health sector locally and abroad, as this type of industry is vital to face the emerging epidemic of the Corona virus.

On Wednesday, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, briefed on the production lines for manufacturing these devices.

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with a number of Qatari engineers working in the Research and Development Center of Barzan Holding Company, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Defense, and who are working to produce devices that conform to the standards of the American Food and Drug Organization (FDA).

It is expected to produce two thousand devices per week, with the aim of internal self-sufficiency and export abroad, in light of the increasing global demand for respirators for the treatment of people infected with Coronavirus.
