The fighting axes south of the Libyan capital, Tripoli, witnessed today, Wednesday, an exchange of bombing, at a time when the forces of the National Accord government continued to clamp down on the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Hifter and cut their supplies towards western Libya.

A military source from Al-Wefaq forces said that its artillery targeted a gathering of Haftar forces inside the Yarmouk camp in Salah El-Din axis south of Tripoli, which led to the destruction of a Grad missile vehicle and several military vehicles.

The source added that Al-Wefaq forces continue to tighten the noose on Haftar forces inside Hamza camp in the axis of the plateau project after imposing its control on large areas of the surrounding area.

Earlier, a spokesman for the Al-Wefaq forces, Colonel Muhammad Qanunu, announced at dawn today that their air force destroyed a convoy of Haftar forces between the Qurayyat and Nasma areas south of the city of Bani Walid, and he was on his way to Tarhuna city (80 km southeast of Tripoli).

Kanounou added that the convoy contained a truck loaded with ammunition accompanied by four cars that were on their way to supply Haftar forces in Tarhuna and south of Tripoli.

For weeks, the Al-Wefaq air force has been targeting the military supplies of Haftar Tarhuna, which has become the last bastion of a retired brigade in the Libyan West, after the Al-Wefaq government recently recovered its coastal cities, including Sabratha and Sorman.

For its part, Haftar forces shelled today the headquarters of the Medical Medicine Authority of the Libyan Ministry of Health in the Souq Al-Jumuah area, killing one employee and wounding six others, as well as causing damage to the target headquarters.

On Tuesday, the same forces bombed a field hospital affiliated with the Field Medicine and Support Center in the vicinity of the Tripoli Airport Road, which resulted in severe damage to the hospital and the destruction of a number of ambulances and vehicles for medical personnel, according to the Anger Volcano operation of the Al-Wefaq government forces.

Libyan protest

On the other hand, the Libyan National Accord government to France protested the presence of a French war plane and a refueling plane in the airspace of Misurata (200 km east of Tripoli).

Previously, officials in the Al-Wefaq government accused France of supporting Haftar politically and militarily, and of supporting his attack on the capital, Tripoli, for more than a year.

Front refused
politically, retired Libyan Major General faced a front refused after announcing the evening of yesterday, Monday, to drop the Skhirat Agreement and obtain what he called a popular mandate to govern Libya.

And rejected positions were issued by the United States, the European Union, the United Nations, Italy, France, Russia and Turkey.

All these parties emphasized that the political agreement concluded in 2015 is the only framework for solving the Libyan crisis, and that the crisis cannot be resolved by non-political means.

In addition to the rejected positions expressed by the United Nations and the major state powers, the Libyan Accord government condemned Haftar's announcement as a new coup, while it is reported that Haftar is facing opposition from deputies and political figures in the Libyan East.
