Yesterday, SVT was able to report that the Healthcare Association in Värmland wanted a general stop for pregnant healthcare staff in working with infected or suspected infected corona patients.

But the management of health care in the Värmland region did not want to make such a decision. Among other things, it was pointed out that pregnancy was not a risk factor.

The decision can be re-evaluated

But now, with the new recommendation from the Public Health Authority, that decision may be re-evaluated.

- We need to decide on this new information, what this means and what decisions we need to make, says Health Care Acting HR Manager Wolmer Edqvist.

"Should not be pregnant in close covid care"

At the Medical Association in Värmland, you are very happy about the new recommendation and you are now hopeful that the region will ensure that pregnant healthcare staff does not have corona patients in the future.

- They have so far complied with the Public Health Authority, so we put our trust in it. There should be no pregnant women in close covid care, says Camilla Gustafsson, chair of the Swedish Medical Association in Värmland.
