"Women suffer the most from the consequences of confinement in terms of self-esteem"

According to an Ifop poll published on April 22, a third of French people no longer take a shower daily and 41% of men confined to solo do not change their panties every day, compared to 15% of women confined alone. "Desire does not like disgust", underlines Maïa Mazaurette. "It is clear that it is rather the men who no longer take a shower and who stop changing their pants. It is the rather senior men, rather unemployed, rather unmarried, that is to say the men who, a priori , are all alone at all levels right now. So there is no stake, "she explains.

For their part, 74% of French respondents say they shower monthly at least once a day and 91% of women change their panties every day. If the figures are more encouraging for women, Maïa Mazaurette notes that "it is women who suffer the most from the consequences of confinement in terms of self-esteem". Since only "12% of women at the moment in France feel beautiful" against 22% before the start of confinement.

"Letting go makes orgasms easier"

During confinement, some French women also decided to get rid of certain constraints. Thus, 8% of the women questioned declared never or almost never wearing a bra compared to 3% before confinement. And according to an OpinionWay survey for the razor brand Bic, 38% of women choose to let their hair grow back. Meanwhile, the men swap their work pants for jogging.

Maïa Mazaurette therefore wondered if letting go was compatible with sexuality. "We know that letting go makes it easier to have orgasms," said the journalist. "Women in particular are victims of a syndrome called 'spectatorism'. During love, we look at ourselves as if we are outside, as if we should always have the perfect break and always be very desirable ", exposes the expert.

The letting go that accompanies confinement would therefore be rather beneficial for women's sexuality. "By letting go of the nimble on the appearance, we will be able to focus on our feelings, on our emotions," she says. "On the other hand, in terms of seduction, it's a little bit complicated," she admits. "When you do not love yourself, when you do not feel like you deserve a reward that is orgasm, sexual enjoyment, you go less than before," said Maïa Mazaurette.
