At a time when the authorities are starting to plan for the deconfinement, Apple plans to reopen its stores from May. Faced with the health crisis that affects many countries, the Californian giant had decided to close all its stores since March.

Its decision will however depend on the situation in each country, reports Bloomberg , whose information is relayed by Presse-Citron .

IPhone sales drop in China during containment

This was allegedly communicated by Deirdre O'Brien, vice president of retail at Apple in a message to employees. However, no date or country was mentioned in this message. The Cupertino company still has to wait and monitor the health situation on a case-by-case basis to consider reopening its stores.

According to unofficial figures, containment would have significantly reduced iPhone sales in China. In February, less than 500,000 smartphones would have been shipped to this country, which would represent a drop of 60% compared to the same period a year earlier. In March, the trend seemed to have reversed with an increase in iPhone sales of 19% in China compared to the previous year. To learn more about Apple's economic situation after this health crisis, we will have to wait for the release of official figures.
