The UAE has urged the UN Security Council to reinforce ways to increase meaningful and inclusive youth participation in peacebuilding efforts, including inviting more youth leaders regularly to the council, to give their briefings, and reflect on their individual experiences, in their pursuit of peace and security in their communities.

This came during the State’s statement before the open debate held by the United Nations Security Council, yesterday, on the fifth anniversary of the Youth, Peace and Security Agenda, on the occasion of the celebration of the fifth anniversary of the adoption of Security Council Resolution 2250 of 2015, which is the pioneering decision that recognizes the important and positive role What young people play in the maintenance and promotion of international peace and security.
