It was last spring that a firstborn and her partner were sent home from the hospital twice during the same day, on the grounds that it was not time for childbirth.

The couple lived, according to the report, one hour from the hospital easy way. And when they went there a third time, they did not arrive.

Didn't go to the hospital

Instead, they had to stop at a lawn along the road where the woman was forced to give birth.

- It was around 8 in the morning, it was very cold outside, the woman, who wants to be anonymous, has previously told Smålänningen.

- The only thing I thought about was if our child was okay, I was so worried about him.

Should be re-examined

Ivo believes that the midwife has failed in her task of ensuring good and safe care for the woman. This is reported by the magazine Care Focus.

It is the conduct of the second visit to the hospital that is criticized. The woman should then have had contractions every five to ten minutes and Ivo believes that it is not possible to judge whether the woman was in active labor at that stage.

Instead, an additional examination should be done two hours later to determine which phase of childbirth the woman was in.

Inadequate documentation

Ivo also criticizes the caregiver for not ensuring that the pregnant woman, who did not speak Swedish, understood the information she received. They also believe that the documentation in the journal was deficient.
