According to the Consumer Agency, most municipalities in Värmland adhere to the recommendation that anyone who needs debt relief assistance should have their first meeting with an adviser within a month. The municipalities where the waiting time exceeds four weeks are, besides Grums, also Karlstad with twelve weeks waiting time, Forshaga with eight weeks and Torsby with six weeks.
This year, however, Hammarö, Sunne and Årjäng pass the recommendations, compared with last year.
The average waiting time for the whole county is about four and a half weeks. Across the country, the average three-and-a-half-week waiting period for debt relief is average.
