German justice indicted a 26-year-old man on Monday for the alleged murder of six members of his family. The facts took place on January 24 in the small town of Rot am See, near Stuttgart, in the southwest of Germany. The young man, who confessed to the facts, is also accused of attempted murder in two other cases, said the prosecution of Ellwangen in a statement.

A “long-planned” act

The accused "planned for a long time" to "kill his mother and half-sister because of alleged ill-treatment", said the prosecution, which does not exclude that he suffers from psychiatric problems such as schizophrenia. To this end, he joined a shooting club and legally procured a weapon.

At a family reunion, the alleged perpetrator took action, killing his parents, a half-brother, a half-sister, an aunt and an uncle. The victims were between 36 and 69 years old. Two other family members were injured.
