Prime Minister Edouard Philippe will present this Tuesday, at 3 p.m. before the National Assembly, the government's deconfinement plan and the main rules to be applied in six key areas: schools, shops, businesses, testing and isolation of the sick, masks and rallies .

After Edouard Philippe's speech, the plan will be the subject of a 2.5 hour debate with the deputies, 75 of whom may be physically present, then will be put to the vote - a procedure which was not compulsory.

The coronavirus has made a total of 23,293 deaths in France (including hospitals and medico-social establishments) since March 1. There have been 437 more deaths in the last 24 hours, including 295 in hospitals, reflecting a further increase in deaths after several days of steady decline.

By way of comparison, the 24-hour death toll stood at 242 people who died on Sunday (and 369 on Saturday), including 90 in nursing homes and other medico-social establishments. The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care (4,608) is down for the 19th consecutive day, with a negative balance of - 74 patients.
