Analysts have shown, the press service of the department said that the price situation on the market of socially significant food products is stable, there is no spasmodic increase in prices.

"The dynamics of messages from residents of Moscow shows that the peak of food panic and rush demand has passed," the statement said.

They noted that, according to daily monitoring, food in the capital’s stores is economically and physically accessible, there is no shortage.

Earlier, the Prosecutor General of Russia, Igor Krasnov, instructed regional prosecutors to immediately respond to data on overpricing of socially significant goods. 

In early April, the Prosecutor General's Office instructed the FAS to verify the validity of rising food prices, including ginger root, garlic and lemons.
