Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wants the NBA Championship season to resume, even without spectators, and only after sanitary measures are in place to protect players from the coronavirus.

"If we can play without supporters, I will certainly campaign for this idea and I think the League (NBA, Editor's note) too. I think we have a moral obligation in this sense," said Mark Cuban on Sunday. CNN television.

Mark Cuban said that no timetable has yet been set for the resumption of the prestigious North American basketball championship, interrupted on March 12, when the French pivot of Utah Rudy Gobert tested positive at Covid-19.

"As soon as it's safe, we want to try to start again and make sure the guys can train and prepare for the matches - but we're not there yet," added the owner of "Mavs" .

"There will be protocols in which we can trust. We will not do anything until it is absolutely, genuinely safe," he said.

According to the ESPN television channel, the training centers of the NBA teams will reopen Friday in the American states where the confinement measures linked to the coronavirus have been relaxed, which could affect up to ten franchises. However, players should limit themselves to individual exercises in a healthy and controlled environment.

NBA boss Adam Silver has indicated that it will be necessary to wait for the month of May before being able to advance a possible calendar of restarting of the NBA, stopped one month from the end of the regular season.
