April 27, 2020Air defense of the Syrian army went into action after an "Israeli" air missile hit targets near the capital Damascus, Syrian official news agency Sana reported. The latter does not specify the nature of the targeted posts shortly before dawn, but claims that air defense "shot down a number of missiles before they reached their targets."
Sana reports of an "Israeli aggression" carried out from the airspace of neighboring Lebanon. On April 20, he had denounced another: a missile attack against targets in the central desert of Palmyra, attributed to Israel. On that occasion, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH) had ensured that the targeted targets were "military posts of the Iranian militias". According to Sana, targets in central Syria were hit on 31 March. In recent months, attacks attributed to Israel have targeted positions in Syria where Iranian forces or Hezbollah fighters are stationed.
