The Iranian army said that the US-led naval alliance in the Gulf raises instability, and disrupts regional order and security rather than helping to maintain stability and security in the region.

The army added in a statement carried by the Islamic Republic of News Agency today, Monday, that the only sure way to establish peace and stability in the Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman is the exit of the US military and its allies.

Iran and the United States have been very tense since Washington unilaterally withdrew in 2018 from the nuclear agreement with Iran and reimposed severe economic sanctions on Tehran.

This tension escalated with an accident between Iranian boats and American warships in the Gulf waters on April 15, which the two sides exchanged responsibility for, and was followed by a series of strong statements from both sides.

Training in Saudi islands
On the other hand, the Pentagon revealed that the Marine Expeditionary Unit and the Amphibious Battan Ship Group conducted between April 20 and April 22 this year, military exercises in the Kran and Karen islands of Saudi Arabia.

The ministry stated in an article on its website that the training, which had been previously planned, gave about eight hundred marines and sailors the opportunity to train in amphibious military operations in a realistic environment.

The three-day exercises included a variety of basic tasks for the Marine Expeditionary Unit, including amphibious raids, which may result in a target occupation and preparation for follow-up and amphibious assaults.
