It was in August last year that, according to the indictment, the man left the dog for an hour. The puppy had neither water nor a cooling pad in the car and according to the prosecution it was just over 20 degrees outdoors.

It was in the cargo compartment and the prosecutor has used excerpts from the Swedish Kennel Club to show how hot it can be in a car under different weather conditions. The man is charged with animal cruelty.

In evidence against the man there is a hearing with a veterinarian who told about the dog's condition and a laboratory veterinarian who was interviewed about the autopsy report.

According to that report, the dog had sustained internal damage to the organs due to the heat in the car and had to be killed the same day. In interrogation, the man said it was an accident and he would not put the dogs at risk.
