27 April 2020 The Nas Operative Department of the Carabinieri has made four websites obscured - on foreign servers and with fake references - on which advertising and sale was made, also in Italian, of medicines subject to particular limits but proposed as anti-Covid therapy -19.The Nas recommend to be wary of purchasing drugs on unauthorized sites without the logo of the Ministry of Health, "dangerous to health if not prescribed on medical evaluations".

The investigative activity was carried out by the Criminal phenomena analysis section of the Operations Department. On the four online platforms, a multiplicity of medicines with therapeutic formulas that indicated active ingredients with doping, antibiotic, antitumor, antibacterial and for the treatment of erectile dysfunction could be illegally found.
Among these, the investigations identified, also in Italian, pharmaceutical products based on "chloroquine" and "hydroxychloroquine" whose use was temporarily authorized by the Italian Medicines Agency for the treatment - but not the prophylaxis - of patients suffering from Sars-Cov-2 infection, drugs that can only be supplied at hospital level, due to the rigorous conditions of use still subjected to clinical trials and studies.
