According to the latest count from Johns Hopkins University, which references, 1,330 people have died from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours on American soil. With nearly 55,000 deaths since the start of the pandemic and more than 960,000 cases of confirmed infections, the United States is the country most affected by the virus.

The United States has recorded an additional 1,330 deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, according to a count released Sunday evening by Johns Hopkins University. The country now totals 54,841 deaths, with 964,937 cases of confirmed infections. The United States is by far the country most affected by the pandemic, in terms of both number of infections and deaths.

Refrigerated trucks in New York

In New York, the most mourning city in the world with more than 15,000 deaths, the sight of refrigerated trucks used as temporary mortuaries reminded residents of terrible memories, including the morgue erected at the World Trade Center after the attacks of September 11, 2001.

But it is also accompanied by several counters which provide information on the number of victims ... and people healed. 

Some manufacturing and construction activities could nevertheless resume after May 15, said its governor Andrew Cuomo.
