Sweden

Compulsory schools and childcare have been open during the outbreak of virus, while upper secondary schools, universities, colleges and adult education have been recommended to teach remotely. Restaurant guests must eat and drink while sitting at a table and several restaurants in Stockholm have been allowed to close immediately due to congestion in the premises. There is a ban on over 50 people gathering and against visits to elderly homes.

Norway

  • Population: 5.4 million.

In early April, Norway felt that the coronal situation was under control and the country is now taking slow steps towards normal. Some of the restrictions imposed in mid-March have been eased. Last week the preschools were filled with laughing children. And on Monday, about 250,000 children returned to grades 1-4. But universities, colleges and schools for grades 5-7 continue, with some exceptions, to remain closed.

Denmark

In Denmark, a gradual opening of society, which has largely been closed down since mid-March, is in progress. In mid-April, the youngest children were allowed to return to teaching and to preschools. Since then, professional groups such as hairdressers, psychologists and opticians have had to return to their work. Public transport has increased the number of trips.

It is still prohibited to gather more than ten people.

Finland

In Finland, the government has proclaimed exceptional conditions to tackle the corona pandemic. There are, among other things, severe restrictions on entry and exit in the country. For a few weeks, the province of Nyland, where Helsinki is located, was isolated from the rest of Finland - but it was claimed on April 15.

The extensive restrictions mean that Finland is now in a quiet phase of the virus outbreak, as SVT News reported on Monday.

Iceland

In Iceland there is a ban on more than 20 people to gather. Universities, colleges and high schools have closed. Anyone entering Iceland must be in quarantine for two weeks.
