The "Guiding Opinions on Promoting Seismic Station Reform by the China Earthquake Administration" recently issued clearly stated the above objectives, emphasizing the focus on monitoring and forecasting and the main business, deepening the seismic station reform, and laying a solid foundation for the modernization of earthquake prevention and mitigation in the new era.
According to the four-level monitoring and forecasting business framework, the National Seismological Station takes the lead in organizing the national earthquake monitoring and forecasting business, undertakes the national earthquake rapid reporting, forecasting, and early warning work, and produces and publishes professional product information for earthquake monitoring and forecasting. Establish and improve technical specifications and standards for the operation of seismic stations nationwide and organize their implementation. Undertake the planning, evaluation and optimization of the national seismic monitoring station network, and provide business guidance to provincial seismic stations and central stations.
The Provincial Seismological Station is responsible for the provincial earthquake monitoring and forecasting business, undertakes the provincial earthquake rapid reporting, forecasting, and early warning work, and produces and publishes professional product information for earthquake monitoring and forecasting. Responsible for the design, evaluation and optimization of the provincial seismic monitoring station network, and conduct business management for the central station.
