110 deputies tabled a report to the government drawing up a list of proposals intended to save the tourism sector. Guest of Europe 1 Monday, Pascale Fontenel-Personne, MP for Sarthe and co-chair of the Tourism study group at the National Assembly pleads in particular for an early reopening of restaurants.

INTERVIEW

Following the forced closings of hotels and restaurants, tourism is one of the first victims of the coronavirus epidemic. With the approach of deconfinement, the authorities are trying to save companies in the sector. "If we are able to make a gradual return to schools, to hairdressers, there is no reason why we should not include catering [in this logic]" argued the deputy of Sarthe Pascale Fontenel -Person, Monday at the microphone of Europe 1.

With a group of 110 deputies, Pascale Fontenel-Personne submitted a report to the government proposing, among other things, a moratorium on the debts of restaurateurs or the payment to the French of bonuses in holiday vouchers. But it is above all the possibility of reopening restaurants from mid-May which is controversial, in particular concerning sanitary measures.

A decision on a case by case basis

"In Sarthe, I have restaurants with thirty covers which could reopen with twenty covers and fully maintain social distancing," said the deputy. "Smart reopenings" are necessary, she says, as the economic situation of restaurateurs is precarious.

> Can France hope for a more favorable scenario than Italy?

> Are women and people with blood type O more resistant?

> Are certain serious forms linked to a genetic factor?

> How will the distribution of masks take place in France?

> How to keep sleep during confinement?

If it is not question for Pascale Fontenel-Person of "massive reopening", she affirms that a decision on a case by case basis should be taken. "Inequalities in the territories are massive, we cannot treat mass tourism on the coast like tourism in the territories."
